VOLUNTEER FARM EDUCATORS WANTED! JOIN US IN EDUCATING LOCAL YOUTH ABOUT FOOD, FARMING, AND THE LAND!
Do you enjoy gardening and interacting with children? If so, consider volunteering with Sauvie Island Center.
Volunteers lead small groups of elementary school students through hands-on, farm-based lessons.
A trip to Sauvie Island Center is a rich and unique opportunity for Portland youth to visit and explore Sauvie Island Organics Farm
and the grounds of Howell Territorial Park, managed by Metro.
Volunteer Farm Educators are essential to the success of our program!
Our trained educators are asked to commit to leading a minimum of 5 field trips during the season.
SPRING 2015 field trips will begin Tuesday, April 7 and run through Friday, June 12.
Each trip is approximately a 5-hour volunteer day from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
By joining our farm educator team, you will gain experience in place-based, hands-on environmental education.
New Volunteer Training: Thursday, April 2, 9:30am – 4:30pm (Lunch provided)
All Volunteer Enrichment: Friday, April 3, 9:30am – 1:30pm (Snacks provided)
