The Darlin' Blackbirds - Live Music at the Earth Day Celebration!

Join us for a Party for the Planet!

Saturday, April 21

12:00pm-4:00pm

Forest Grove Senior & Community Center (2037 Douglas Street)

Join us for a celebration to remember!  Finger foods will be provided by local restaurants, kids’ activities will be led by volunteers, and live music (schedule below) will be enjoyed by all.

THE BIKE RACK for the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center will be dedicated at noon.  Don’t miss the unveiling of this handcrafted metal piece by local artisan Eric Canon, inspired by the biking culture of our community.  All are encouraged to ride their bikes to this event, to try out the new bike rack!

LIVE MUSIC SCHEDULE:
The Darlin’ Blackbirds  (noon to 2)
FG Senior Center Choir (is that the correct name, actually?) (2 to 2:30)
Art Goodman (2:30 to 4)

VEGGIE STARTS will be on sale throughout the event.  These healthy, heirloom vegetable states are from the famous Gales Meadow Organic Farm ($3.00 each).

LOCAL NONPROFITS will be present to give information on how they are helping grow our food community and care for the earth.

  1. […] One of our members, Eric Cannon, is a local artist who has created a beautiful bike rack for the Forest Grove Senior and Community Center. The DCCFW is holding a celebration of the installation of the bike rack and of Earth Day on Saturday, April 21st at the FCSCC from noon until 4pm. https://dairycreekcommunityfoodweb.org/2012/04/12/earth-day-celebration-2012/ […]
