March 5th: The Farmer-Chef Connection 2012

Are you a producer, looking to network with local restaurants?  Or are you a chef, looking to find the best local food and drink products for your menu?  Look no further.

The Portland Farmer-Chef Collaborative is hosting it’s 12th annual Farmer-Chef Connection this March at the Clackamas Community College campus in Oregon City.

Anyone is welcome to register for this all-day networking and workshop event.  It’s not just for Portland-area chefs and farmers, either:  the Collaborative welcomes fishermen, food processors, grocery store owners, and even individuals who would like to source their food locally.

The keynote speaker is Sam Mogannam, owner of Bi-Rite Market and author of Eat Good Food: A Grocer’s Guide to Shopping, Cooking & Creating Community Through Food . Other events include workshops on sourcing locally and a luncheon designed for networking between producers and buyers.  Vendors, nonprofits, and food providers are aslo welcomed to display and promote their products on tables throughout the Connection.  It promises to be a productive, delicious day for all!

Registration is $20 per person, and includes a local lunch and admission to all workshops you choose.  Please visit the Farmer-Chef Collaborative website to register online:  http://sassafraskitchen.com/wordpress/?page_id=292
