Harvest-time:

Small Farm School: A one-day program for small farmers put on by OSU and held at Clackamas Community College one Saturday in September http://smallfarms.oregonstate.edu/small-farm-school

Farmers Rising! Oregon’s Beginning Farmer & Rancher Convivium:
October ( in 2014 it was 17th-19th, FridaySunday)
Lonesome Whistle Farm in Junction City
learning, sharing, networking, eating, music-ing, dancing, good-times-ing
$85 for the whole weekend, $60 for Saturday & Sunday only. Includes all meals. Tickets will go on sale in early September.

Friends of Family Farmers’ iFarm Program 

Connecting aspiring farmers to land (leased and sold) via public database…. To contact any of the landowners or farmers on iFarm, you must first complete a questionnaire describing your opportunity (for landholders) or your goals, experience, and plans (for landseekers). Once completed and approved, this information is entered into our online database (online and pdf questionnaires are below) and you may then contact any of our iFarm participants.

OSU’s Small Farms Programs

“Growing Farms Program”  Wednesday evenings, February to April, 4:30 to 9:00 pm

Soil School – one Saturday in April (Can be attended without attending “Growing Farms”)

Growing Farms is designed for beginning farmer in their first 5-years of business. Come and learn how to navigate the biological, financial and human aspects of small-scale specialty crop and livestock farming while getting to know the local small farm community.
